Saturday Night Genealogy Fun- Your 2022 Plans/Goals/Resolutions for Your Genealogy Research

 Calling all Genea-Musings fans

It's Saturday Night again -

time for some more Genealogy Fun!!

Here is your assignment, should you decide to accept it (you ARE reading this, so I assume that you really want to play along - cue the Mission Impossible music!):

1)  It's the New Year, and many readers and bloggers have already made resolutions, or goals, or plans for one or more tasks or projects.  Or they haven't yet, but could, or should.

2)  For this SNGF, please tell us what plans you've made, or what goals you've stated, or what resolutions you've averred for 2021.  Writing them down may help you achieve them.  Do one or more as you wish.

3)  Put it in your own blog post, in a comment to this post, or in a Facebook post.  Please leave a link in a comment to this post so readers can find your resolutions/goals/plans.

#1 Write -  I would like to write about my ancestral stories on my blog. Specifically, write about the methodologies, and case studies like I use to do in 2019.

#2 Continue to add to my genealogy program - I will continue to add source citations, facts, images, etc. I did a bit last year, hopefully, even more, this year.

# 3 Work on my neglected family lines. I did a bit last year, hopefully, even more, this year.

#4 Continue to work through brick walls. I may not accomplish this goal this year, but if that is the case, the only thing I want is to make progress on them

I think I won the "Genealogist's Outstanding Procrastination Award" for 2021. Though I did some genealogy, there wasn't always a focus or I didn't make any progress on my goals. I didn't do much genealogy because I needed a break from looking at the computer and I had no motivation, or drive to do any at times.

Hopefully, I can break through at least one brick ball this year. Wish me luck. 😀

My Eight Surnames

After reading Lisa Gorrell's post about her surnames , I decided I wanted to try it out too. My Surnames: Pearson Gable Harlan McDaniel Armstead Barton Rogers Rogers The 2 Rogers surnames my maternal great-grandmother, Lela Rogers married Earnest Rogers. Intentions & Reflections

Photo by Sixteen Miles Out on Unsplash I haven’t blogged in a while. For two years, I put this blog on private as I’d no longer had the willpower to push out blog posts the way that I did six years ago. I write a little more about this in my blog post Why Do You Do… ?  Recently, I have revamped my blog. I have unpublished posts that didn’t reflect who I was then or who I am now, or those that felt too personal to share ‘out there’. I also removed posts I wrote  just for the sake of posting content and main taining an audience,   even when  inauthentic to me. It means more to me that others feel the value and quality of what I share rather than the quantity. I am not sure how often I will post, all I know is when the inspiration and curiosity strike, that’s when it will occur. My intention for this blog is to lead with more spontaneity than usual, structured content, along with transparency, authenticity, and vulnerability to whatever degree feels right. My inte...
