Intentions & Reflections

For two years, I put this blog on private as I’d no longer had the willpower to push out blog posts the way that I did six years ago. I write a little more about this in my blog post Why Do You Do… ?  Recently, I have revamped my blog. I have unpublished posts that didn’t reflect who I was then or who I am now, or those that felt too personal to share ‘out there’. I also removed posts I wrote  just for the sake of posting content and main taining an audience,   even when  inauthentic to me. It means more to me that others feel the value and quality of what I share rather than the quantity. I am not sure how often I will post, all I know is when the inspiration and curiosity strike, that’s when it will occur. My intention for this blog is to lead with more spontaneity than usual, structured content, along with transparency, authenticity, and vulnerability to whatever degree feels right. My inte...

2021 in Review

As the year comes to a close, I want to share what 2021 was like for me.  Photo by Geralt  on Pixabay Let's look back on my 2021 goals and see how I did. 1.  Establish a physical filing system that is the same as my digital filing system  -  ❌ 2.  Learn about my enslaved ancestors -  ✅ 3.   Find Loretta Bakers parents -  ❌ 4.  Continue to prove the parentage of Clara L Scott-  ❌ A look back at my genealogy quests, progresses, and activities. 2020 in Review

Learn why Jesse and Oscar were in an orphanage - This isn't a fail per se, but at the moment, the answer is still unknown. 2. Continue to prove the parentage of Clara L Scott - I  3. 2019 in Review

As the year comes to a close, I want to share what 2019 was like for me.  Source: Pixabay This year has been filled with many successes and discoveries. I launched my blog- I wanted to start a blog back in 2017/8. This year, I took the plunge and I did it. Blog series:  52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks-  I didn't do so well on this, but hopefully next year will be better. Best of Genea-Blogs post - My post was featured on Genea-Musings. I was so excited. I never would have expected one of my posts to be on a big named Genea-Blogger. Randy Seaver, if you reading this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish I could meet you one day. A possible lead to find my 3rd great-grandmother's parents.   Even likely DNA matches on my mom's and aunts match page. I have to make a post about it next year.
