Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Your 2025 “Dear Genea-Santa” Letter

 Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

 It's Saturday Night again -

Time for some more Genealogy

Come on, everybody, join in and accept the mission and execute it with precision. Here's your chance to sit on Genea-Santa's lap (virtually) and tell him your Christmas genealogy-oriented wish list:

1) Write your 2025 Genea-Santa letter. Have you been a good genealogy girl or boy? What genealogy-oriented items are on your Christmas wish list? They could be family history items, technology items, or things that you want to pursue in your ancestral quest.

2) Tell us about them in your own blog post, in a comment on this post, or in a Facebook Status  post.  Please leave a link on this post if you write your own post.

Dear Genea-Santa,

I have been a fairly good genea-girl this year. I have recently started blogging again after taking a break for two years, and  I have occasionally written blog posts in the last five months. I’ve also been researching on occasions when I feel the spark to do so, as well after taking a fairly big break, with the occasion of researching in between that break. I’m sure that will increase in the coming months.

But for my wish list, I don’t want too much this year, but all I want for Christmas is…

1. A mentorship(s) with a genealogist(s) and community that resonates with me. A mentor who can provide specialized knowledge and wisdom with my specific family lines, and research walls and locations or regions. An ideal of mine is to have a mentorship(s) or a genealogy buddy group where we can collaborate on each other’s research questions and provide real support and advice that is actually really helpful and relevant. Whether that be online or face-to-face wouldn’t matter too much right now.

2. I would like one book, as of right now, about archiving family documents, artifacts, photos, etc. It is called How to Archive Family Keepsakes: Learn How to Preserve Family Photos, Memorabilia and Genealogy Records by Denise May Levenick.

3. Readers who will eventually find my blog and resonate with the topics I talk about sooner or later.

4. I would also, of course, love hints, leads, or any nudges or signs that would point me in the to finding answers for all of my research questions would be appreciated.

I think that’s all from me now, Genea-Santa. Thank you for everything you do and all the solace and warmth you bring to people. Your presence is greatly appreciated and needed in the world. I hope these words are enough in place of food and you receive as much nourishment and fulfillment from them as such.

P.S. I will disarm the alarm system on the night of Christmas Eve, so you can come inside my home.

With much gratitude and respect from my heart,

Lacie

There are so many ancestors I would love to talk to, but I will only list my top 5 ancestors. 💗 1)   My first choice would be my great-grandmother, Clara Loretta Scott Armstead (1904-1998). I would ask her what her biological mother's name is, the reasoning behind why her brothers were placed in an orphanage, and why her ex-husband, Anthony Tony Armstead, was abusive toward her sons and possibly ...
