Sepia Saturday: Spans Across Seas & Trams

Sepia Saturday provides bloggers with an opportunity to share their history through the medium of photographs

I haven't participated in Sepia Saturday in a couple of weeks. I will have to play catch up later, so stay tuned for those upcoming posts.

This week's photo prompt features an electric tramway going down a curvy steep roadway. I thought about several ways to take this prompt, but I have chosen two ways - bridges and trams.

The first photo is the Ambassador Bridge which connects Detroit to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. My parents rode on this bridge to go to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon.

There is a Detroit-Windsor tunnel - which is an international border crossing to get to both cities, back and forth. FUN FACT: The tunnel is in fact underwater.  [1]

Here is a vintage postcard of the bridge.

Trams

This photo was taken in the Detroit Metro Airport.

This is Detroit's streetcar system called QLine. I featured this on another Sepia Saturday post, but since I couldn't find any vintage images of trams in Detroit that were available, I stuck to this one. Click here to view a guide to using the QLine. (There may be ads played in the background).
